Official MOTION PICTURE Soundtrack

CD 1 contains 13 songs featuring the vocals of Winter Parade's Bjorn Westum and the fantastic production of Winter Paradise's Dice Jacobsen. Dice was contracted to recreate the sound of White Diamond demos and a few covers too before we had secured the rights to the original copies. There was quite a controversy created because we never officially announced who was on the initial release, but really, it wasn't much of a secret. The CD was a soundtrack to a film project starring actors and based upon a script telling a modern day twist about a band.

The idea was never to get the actual band together again, it was just to tell a great story about rock music. Unfortunately, Bjorn Westum couldn't pronounce a few words correctly and some of the songs needed redone as well alongside a script rewrite to fit the "new" sound. And, as fate would have it, because that took so long to complete, other problems arose. Former members decided against allowing their lyrics or personalities used so we had to redo even more stuff. We saved some time by including a couple Winter Parade tracks. However, those selections were also rewritten to my liking... Dice is a flawless producer.

I loved what Dice did from start to finish with the excption of the very European vocals which weren't his to begin with. The singer is strong as an ox, but it's obvious on a couple lines here and there that he wasn't familiar with the words he sang. Despite the delays due to things on my end and Dice not having funds to keep up his end of the deal, the rewrites, etc... Stress took it's toll and we began fighting.

Fact remains, we ended up with 13 pristine songs I now refuse to let just sit around and collect dust any longer. He and I have had our differences but I believe we wouldn't have had any problems at all if I knew up front that he was using his life savings to finish the job and our initial mediator was more honest with himto boot.

I am also sure he wouldn't have held back on sending me the remaining masters on these or the other tracks if he was clear on where I was at and if he had spoke up, I would have footed him extra cash. Dice is a good man, he and I are alike and we are both hard heads. I could write a book on this alone! His guitar work is amazing amd my hat is off to Dice Jacobsen for his contribution.

Either way, here, for the first time ever, are the 13 Dice Jacobsen produced tracks featuring his vocalist. In case you forgot, I not only wrote the lyrics to most all of these beauties but I am the one who promoted them all the way to #1 at MP3. MP3.com was the Billboard Magazine of the net at the time (CLICK HERE).

As a SPECIAL BONUS, this soundtrack also includes two songs never released before by White Diamond under any sort of label. Exclusive to the band here... "Last Forever," which will take you right back to the 80's and make you want to sport a mullet all over again... "The LOST DEMOS Revisited"

The original White Diamond rock band began in Ohio during the late 80's when all good hair metal was on the rise. As the story goes, we came to California and got treated like napkins by a major label. The reality of it is, while I came out here on the hopes and promises of major entertainment connections, I ended up out here alone. In the book, I came out and met up with my band mates in Hollywood.

Truth is, I had to leave them all behind because none of them wanted to risk it. Well, I did, and when I got to the land now Governed by Arnold carrying my music tapes and guitar, I got to work. Within a year I recruited a new band and while the members changed before we finally recorded, what we ended up with was much better than I could have ever written in a fictional account of my 'general' history.

You see, while I may have sensationalized the story to sell a film, tied players together, exploited people, that is all public relations and film studios do anyhow. And much of the time major labels bring in ghost musicians and writers to make a generic band sound like they have talent too. Your most famous bands do it all the time. Well, guess what, fianlly White Diamond can put their talent on the table.

Here we have a compilation of 15 tunes recorded over the years by my various band mates. If you want to hear the music that made our individual reputations known worldwide, this is the CD for you! It features the sounds and skills of:

Bjorn Englen on Bass who has played for more bands than we can list here. He has opened for Def Leppard and spent a little time with Quiet Riot! Bjorn taught bass at the prestigious Hollywood Bass Institute as well. Guitarist Jay von Mohr currently runs sound for a successful radio station and recently won a John Lennon music award for his Hugh Hefner theme song. He is a professionally trained and college educated musician.

Drummer Dave Jordan has performed on well known artist albums as a session performer and toured around the world with various acts. He is another professionally educated musician and hails from Quebec. Neal Grusky, famously known for his guitar work in Takara, has seen his albums in the Top 20 a number of times. He is an amazing addition to any project.

And Don Lemmon, you all know me by now. I want you to enjoy this CD and get a feel for what we do because the 3rd release will be a Don Lemmon solo effort that defines my tastes. I have always wanted to make an album of my own but never had time to... Until 2005 that is...

Alright folks, most of this album was mastered and recorded by multi-platinum producer Dave Fowler so I assure you, no one from the big music industry in the sky has told us what to write, sing or record here. We did it all ourselves....
